Youth Bible Studies

As Christians, we know that just going to church on Sundays isn’t enough to feed us spiritually and to keep us encouraged as we walk with Christ. It is even more so of a truth here in the 9th ward where, for teenage Christians, the force of temptations and the many, many obstacles that are persistently set in their path can be overwhelming and, too often, triumphant, in keeping them from growing in their faith. We recognize that consistent, every day encouragement is a must in the lives of all people following God, and we at Desire Fellowship recognize that need at an even greater urgency for the teens of this community. This is why we want to engage them, on a daily basis, in the Word of God and in a community of Christian fellowship in their own environment.

Our strategy is as follows: We want to meet these kids where they are so we are going right into the schools. And we’re going armed with pizza for lunch. We want to use this as a time to draw their attention, draw them in, and begin cultivating an atmosphere of fellowship. We will be using this as a time to get to know each of them personally. Our goal is to pour ourselves into them and eventually see the group grow into a youth-led Bible study. Although the students will be leading the Bible studies, we will continue as a mentor to them throughout this time.

We at Desire Fellowship invite you to partner with us in this ministry of discipleship and investment in raising up the next generation of Christian leaders. It’s important for us to have the support and prayers from fellow brothers and sisters in the faith. The best way that you can provide that is by pledging an amount that will go to this specific ministry on a recurring basis such as monthly, quarterly, etc. Our wish is that you would see yourself as a co-laborer in this particular area of outreach with your funding and praying. We can’t feasibly engage in this ministry without you so be encouraged that we truly do acknowledge you as collaborators in this.
